Watching is free from anywhere on the route; a $3 round-trip shuttle runs if you'd rather not fight for parking. And the forecast, which spent the week hedging, finally committed: mostly sunny and dry through the parade window, 85 by afternoon, with the day's 30 percent storm chance holding off until after 2 — by which time the last Jeep should be parked and the first ice cream already regretted. Friday night's downtown opener ran its full slate — the hundred-Jeep indoor exhibit, the vendor midway, the drone show and fireworks over Promenade Park — and the exhibit and midway run again today for anyone the parade leaves wanting more.
