Lourdes University filed for Chapter 11 protection on Monday, Aug. 10, in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Ohio, and is winding down. The case is No. 3:26-bk-31894 — the 3: is the Toledo division. The Sisters of St. Francis, who founded the university in 1958, have put up $1.43 million so that laid-off employees receive the severance they were promised.
